Obsolete Glyph Scripts

"old scripts never die, they simply fade waey"

Many of these 84 repositories were once indispensable: auto-dimension, grid-refine, and GeomToMesh are prime examples. They’re all now superfluous, since Pointwise itself now does many of these things – and more. If you haven’t switched to using functions such as Flashpoint’s refinement, the automatic-distribution function, linked-diagonalization, the far-field builder, … you should get in touch for either for a training session or an upgrade or both!

Geometric Kernels: what do you need to know?

"at some point you have struggled to import a CAD model"

The Wikipedia (almost certainly incompletely) lists 23 kernels and 43 kernel developers – and there are more in development. Most of the articles on the internet that try to explain kernels are either incomplete or incorrect or both. Understandable, since the complexities don’t lend themselves to easy-reading. Most of us don’t really need to look up rigorous texts since CAD-data-translation has little to do with the kernels themselves and more to how these are used by specific CAD application programs. See this 2-part discussion on the format-ladder for more.
