The models here are used in our training classes. The files are compressed, since they’re pretty big. Use an application such as 7-zip to extract the Pointwise models.
Note that Pointwise models are not backwards compatible (i.e. a V18 model can’t be opened in V17).
Contact us if you are interested in these models, as we no longer support them.
if you’d like to ask about a different y+ / first-cell height, or want to request a grid in a solver-format. Pointwise supports a lot of formats, so don’t forget to tell us which solver you’re interested in. If you generate any interesting results with these grids, do let us know.
DrivAer model with detailed underbody, with T-Rex instructed to convert prisms to hexas (and trias to quads) where possible. This file is about 140 MB. It uses the geometry from The Technical University of Munich, uses a first-cell height of 0.5, and has about 11 million cells with about 5.5 million grid points.
This file is about 140 MB. It uses the geometry from The Technical University of Munich, uses a first-cell height of 1.5, and has about 10 million cells with about 4 million grid points.
