Tecplot has implemented parallel SZL output in SU2 using the TecIO-MPI library, as described here. Whether you prefer to download the SU2 binaries or build-from-source, use OUTPUT_FILES= (TECPLOT, SURFACE_TECPLOT) in your SU2 config file to get .szplt files that are faster to write, faster to read, smaller in size … why wait?
